More PVP - Some proposals
« on: March 24, 2017, 02:32:24 pm »
PVE is nice but somehow it doesnt feel like beeing in a apocalyse.

The fear to be shot when leaving the base. The adrenalin u feel when entering a big city... all that is beeing missed when playing in the north. Even if its not that dangerous living in the south now its always better then those post-apocaliptic holidays one enjoys in the north ;)

So vote my dear survivors and comment. Winner gets the coords to my now unprotected base

I like the way things are now. I like big bases. The build is the most fun, PVP makes it exciting, (unless your killed every day   lol)

Bro, I would love your base in the South. I need to get further down to be closer to some areas I want to explore. I am definitely interested. Thanks, Kevin.

Tor,

Come build near us and you'll get shot as much as you want.  Maybe more.  No need to bother the northerners.

thats the point Bumbaloo: If i visit ur or Bellnik88s Base if will be killed (some more times)
But why sud i. I can not raid it, i can only wait untill u come out and snipe u, but will i gain smth more from it than visiting the nearby millitary camp?

So im thinking of how we can attract more PVP away from the bases.#
i wud be very happy to see at least all cities beeing PVP

That's what I voted for, It would make all the cities as interesting to enter as 0,0. I'm sure everyone gets a rush every time they enter 0,0. What's everyone else think? This is the longest running server in 7d2d, I'm sure this has been brought up before, I wonder what the conclusion was, I'm sure H0tr0d can add quite a bit to this topic.

North is for PvE players. Plain and simple. There is no point in advertising a split-map server if half of the map is not true PvE. If we make changes to that dynamic then we no longer have a split-map. It becomes something else. And it becomes more confusing as well.

Now if we want to make changes to the PvP area to encourage more activity, that would be something we could discuss.

The last server I played on before Ground Zero had invulnerable LCBs (like we have now) and server-wide PvP.  It is now defunct but it was a fun server to play on.

The Ground Zero server is also tons of fun to play on and, arguably, I think they have a better system with the North/South divide.  People who want to PvP can simply build in the south while those that don't simply build in the North.

The divide also lets non-PvP players cross the border and try their hand at PvP without having to commit to PvP all the time.  Some will make the switch.  Some won't.

Having that option also attracts more players to the server and that's a good thing.

I'm not so sure it's a good argument to say that you don't want to come by because you might get shot, while at the same time arguing that you don't have enough people to shoot.  It's a two-edged sword.  Just ask Belinik - he pops a cap in our asses all the time around Bumbaloo castle, the town we're in, etc.  We shoot back if we can and sometimes we just stay in the castle while under siege and moon him instead, while eating meat stew and drinking beers.

I built Bumbaloo Castle in the south and in a town, specifically so it would stick up and be noticed and easy to find.  You're always welcome to come by and try your luck.  We've been so busy building stuff that we're not even properly geared up for PvP yet, so we're easy kills.  Really.  We are.  Try it.
