I'm out of town until Monday but I will see if there is a way to do it before then.

I just want One Flag....

One Flag to rule them all, One Flag to find them,
One Flag to bring them all and in the darkness bind them

I'm sorry - but using the word "flag" just doesn't have the same ring to it.  ;)

Madman,

I am sure Hotrod would agree, but we are working diligently on our home station, and soon we would be able to acquire our flag for placement.

With Hotrod's approval, we would like to acquire our flag.   I don't know what color but I would assume RED.   (up to hotrod, but I would think red would look the best with our current color scheme)

Indeed.  After some discussion yesterday I have pretty much lost interest in bothering with Capture the Flag, even assuming anyone else bothers.  Besides, if people are going to put them in unknown bases behind 30 doors it has nothing to do with encouraging PVP and everything to do with wasting two hours of my day listened to that annoying clanging sound of an auger.

Was a cool idea, but it seems pretty much dead.  That's fine, Zorg are still enjoying their time in the wastes.  Soon we shall have united everything under the collective unite of the Horde.  It is the only way to have peace in our times.

Well I told you yesterday we don't want too many strictures on flag placement. I think one of the things that can help is issue flags at 100 days. Even if it means hiding them around the map.

I think flags need to be displayed above ground.

And we do need to come up with a way to place a flag that doesn't involve 800 doors.

I was not trying to discourage you by telling you it only had to be visible and legitimately accessible.  I just feel you need to allow for player ingenuity in placing flags in their bases. I don't know how it would work if we forced players to place it on flagpole on the ground maximum 10 blocks high, and then broadcast your location. I personally would want people to be forced to explore and discover flags and their seat of power.

Do you allow flags to be behind stop signs, but with no land claims?

Do you make a limit of 4 doors? I don't know how you draw the line to be honest.

(IMO) and take it for what it is worth.

The CTF scenario should be  a planned event between your two (or more) teams.

Find a small town/city and have a neutral hide the flag.

Place your bags/beds one team to a "side" and have at it.

The team that wins gets bragging rights and something (if permissible) from MM. Or have it once a week and who ever has the most wins after 5 weeks is the winner. Rest 3 weeks and start it over.

Make it so the flag has to be returned to the sleeping bag area.   Flag runner has to carry flag (no weapon). You can even make it only pistols, only knives, etc.

Something like the PvP events we used to have.

We're talking semantics here.  Doesn't matter what the rules say when there is one flag on the board.

What we need is one other team to place theirs so players can see that it is not about suddenly having their base wrecked.  The whole point is to have some friendly banter, some controlled PVP, and then make fun of each other on the forums.

Thus the point is not to control all the flags, or to spend 10 hours of my day wandering around aimlessly looking for one, but rather to enjoy the process of involuntarily swapping them, while dodging bullets.

Anyway, doesn't matter.  I kinda like our lonely Flag of Power.  I was actually intending to be on a lot more this last weekend but my computer had a heart attack.  Was some delightful PVP action the last time I was on, so I'd like to say thanks to the OBEY crew for swapping bullets.  Think I still have one lodged in my cranium somewhere.  It's not that easy to kill a zombie master builder.

LMAO! I have a small sense of pride that it is my bullet rattling around in there. It was a lot of fun duking it out with you and Wise, I look forward to doing it some more.

I have stayed pretty quite for sometime regarding  the chatter that has been on here with regards to PVP vs PVE and the CTF situation. I would like to address both now. I believe,  we, that have choose to PVP have been working with in strict confines and have adapted and found ways to get our community involved. This steady bombardment  of comments stating that we do not have PVP here, I believe is just plain incorrect. It is the best we could do with in the confines of a unstructured system.  The previously discussed shooting of one of our members hanging out of his (god awful looking) tower, actually led to a spirited round of hunting and PVP action. I personally had a run in, out in town when another player and I were in the same building I had the high ground and came out on top. I gave him a wide berth to get his things and everything was fine. Two survivors fighting over precious supplies and territory.

I say this next statement not as a call out but as a statement of how I and many in my community  have expressed they feel. Aknot I believe your heart is in the right place but you have expressed  your desire to remain PVE numerous times. Come reboot you have your own community, I have no doubt your project will be challenging  and rewarding. Please leave us to our project and allow us to resolve our own issues. I believe  we are doing a good job of it on our own, non constructive comments only hurt our efforts to continue to gain ground on our goal of a large and active PVP community. I will however say that your concerns over whether you can go over the boarder have legitimacy and in no way was i refering to that discussion. So i will add my own concern to this discussion as I believe it really will remove the opportunity for community interactions. I know of at least 2 players that want to construct a trading post and introduce commerce and trading amongst both factions. Not allowing interaction or cross over would remove this option for them and I believe a interesting element to the game.

Lastly on behalf of my faction, Cookie thank you for the fun you and your faction have provided! I believe that your comments  are not unjustified and that our flag should have been flown much sooner. I would like to ask you to continue  to work with us going into next build as we experiment with different  ways to conduct CTF as we value your opinion. Any other factions or individuals interested I would like to suggest a group discussion and an in game meet where we can come together and work out what is agreeable methods of displaying and protecting our flags. Ultimately this will be trial and error and I look forward to the experience as I know it will have more laughs then grief.

I harbor no ill-will towards anyone in the server (with the execption of one horribly ugly Dee tower that is a blight in the face of our momument that is OBEY tower) and welcome constructive feadback.

Please forgive typos and improper Grammer as I wrote this on a mobile device.

So keep my ideas and suggestions to myself? Just because I'm not a PvPer I cant suggest or give ideas? Wow. How well would that have went over if I suggested to HotRod to stay out of my Woodbury thread?

What non constructive comments have hurt the efforts of the PvP community to gain ground in a large active PvP community? If you have read any of my post Im all for PvP yet what happens here is not really PvP.

My concerns are not about interaction of the two sides. In previous post I have mentioned about making GZ a tradepost area for both sides. I have also expressed interests in supporting the Zorg while Poppawolf (I believe) stated he would be supporting OBEY. We even made a gentleman agreement we couldn't use what we traded between each other to go to either faction.

So I really don't know what you are talking  about.

I believe  the fundmental issue lies in your repeated insistence that what we do is not PVP when you are not involved  in any shape or form. If I was a new player and was constantly reading that the only PVP action will come from being picked off at long range while picking berries, why would I even give it a try? Can you see how that could be viewed as discouraging to efforts to grow the PVP community ?

In regards to Hotrod I believe he asked questions regarding your policies for your new community. I may have missed a post in the thread and don't believe  he was doing more then that as Hotrod has become a in server go to for asking policy questions (Whether he likes it or not) and i think his question and possibly my misunderstanding is due to your instance that no PVP or PVE could have a base on the other side just reads to me as discouraging interacting. When I first came in to the server I was PVE, I experimented with both over the past few builds and have decided I prefer PVP. I have no interest in playing on the PVE side and all the experienced players will stay to there side most likely. If I was new however I would want to try both and why not? I should meet people experience  what both have to offer and make an informed  decision.

I have no issue with suggestions but again after looking at multiple posts your consitant criticism of PVP on the server, reads as a critism of the PVP players themselves. Again this may not have been your intention  but it does not change how the words have been perceived among myself and others in the server.
